Our Products Featured in Major Bollywood Production

Our blades and props made their way onto the set of a Salman Khan blockbuster, also featuring notable names like Jackie Shroff, Mithun Chakraborty, & other biggest names in South Asian cinema.
When a production that reaches hundreds of millions needs weapons that look authentic on camera and survive the chaos of filmmaking, they come to workshops like ours.
The screengrabs you see here use pieces forged, finished, and detailed right here at Doon Handicrafts. No filters, no embellishments.
Bollywood is known for scale, colour, and spectacle. Seeing our swords become part of that visual universe is a reminder that craftsmanship travels. It speaks across cultures and across screens.
Manufacturing Strength
Built for Scale. Designed for Detail.
The Doon Handicrafts Legacy
A Heritage Forged in Dehradun
Our story began four decades ago when our founder, M. Jawaid Anjum, transformed a small family shop into a bladesmithing unit that supplied Military Weapons to Defense Contractors and Importers across the USA, France, & United Kingdom.
We are now on the verge of a third manufacturing unit, growth built not on shortcuts, but on precision and accountability.
With renewed focus, technical education, and a commitment to accuracy, we are now inclined towards being a craftsmen-driven reenactment gear and historical weaponry unit serving collectors, the HEMA community, museums, and enthusiasts worldwide.
Guided by the research of R. E. Oakeshott, Jan Petersen, and other historians who shaped modern understanding of primarily viking, other sword typology and blade geometry. Today, our production unit carries a generational heartbeat. Each hammer strike reflects the founder’s grit, and each new process reflects our mission to upgrade the forge with correct terminology, proper methodology, and global standards.

Forged by Practice. Proven by Science.
Forged by Practice. Proven by Science.
Every blade that we forge follows methods taught by Jim “Atar” Hrisoulas’ time-tested heat treatment, normalization, and edge geometry that survive real use.
Our shop applies the exact thermal cycles and finishing protocols Atar documents in his papers and manuals.
We validate balance and handling through hands-on testing inspired by Hank Reinhardt’s pragmatic standards for practical weapons.
Our bladesmith use 1080 High Carbon Steel for Sword Blades, and EN45 for Axes. Our armaments are typically tempered to a hardness between 50 and 60 HRC (Rockwell C Scale).
Lab Reports for the same are available at request.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our earlier designs were purely decorative based on the requests from our clientele. We are now challenging decade old practices to create design inspired by historical typology and craftsmanship in mind.
We study authentic references, not just fantasy pictures. If you want a historically accurate Roman gladius, Viking sword, or medieval knight’s helmet, we’ll deliver. If you want purely decorative pieces, we can also supply, but we’ll tell you exactly what you’re getting (materials, finish, usability). We clearly label “functional replica,” “decorative display,” and “custom-engineered for ceremonial or practical use,” so you know what you buy.
- Blades and armor plates are crafted using high-grade steel (or specific alloy as per customer request). For armor, we can use tempered steel with proper forging and finishing — comparable to traditional methods.
- For strictly display/decorative items, we may opt for lighter materials or finishes — but we always declare that up front.
- Each product listing includes full material specs, expected usage (display / ceremonial / functional), weight, maintenance recommendations.
- If you order in bulk for re-sale, reenactment or military use — you get consistent quality, strict QC, and (on request) documentation of specs.
We operate under valid license(s) required for manufacturing and exporting arms/armor/replicas (domestic and for export). We comply with export laws, international shipping regulations (where applicable), and quality standards. Buyers receive proper documentation along with invoices and export paperwork when we ship internationally. No gray-market ambiguity.
Because we run a high-capacity production setup with in-house design and QC, we maintain batch records: material batch, finish batch, production lot, inspection logs. For repeat customers, we match specs across orders so you get consistent quality. For custom orders: after first production we save mold/templates/design data so reorders match exactly.
Every bulk order comes with a basic quality warranty: we inspect each piece before shipping.
If there’s a manufacturing defect (blade alignment, poor fit, missing parts) — we handle repair or replacement depending on terms.
We supply maintenance advice: how to oil, store, clean steel gear; how to care for leather; how to preserve decorative finishes.
Yes, custom design is one of our core strengths. We have an in-house product designer who reworks existing designs, adapts them to ergonomic or aesthetic needs, and even creates completely new concepts. Whether you need a historically accurate Viking broadsword, a ceremonial cavalry saber, or a sleek gift-set sword for weddings. We provide mock-ups, material samples, finish options, and upon approval, we begin production.
Please connect with our export specialist: [email protected]
When you email, include your country, intended end-use (display / ceremonial / operational), estimated order size, and any local HS code or import classification you have.
We ship as “historical replicas / decorative / collectible items” and provide export paperwork and documentation. We encourage serious buyers (military, academies, importers) to check local legal compliance before ordering. We maintain documentation to help with customs.
Yes, bulk orders are priced competitively. Discounts depend on: volume, repeat order history, customization or standard catalog items. For large recurring orders (e.g. monthly or seasonal), we can negotiate favorable pricing, priority scheduling, and custom packaging. Reach out via WhatsApp or email for quote, and get a full breakdown (unit cost, shipping, lead time, custom options).
For collectibles and display-grade gear, we focus on finish quality, authenticity in design (proportions, typology), and durable materials (steel, proper plating, leather, wood, etc.). The goal is heirloom-quality pieces that age well rather than cheap souvenirs.
Because we’re a high-capacity manufacturer:
- MOQ depends on product category, for swords, helmets, armor sets, accessories. Typical MOQ is negotiable (especially for serious buyers starting with large orders).
- Lead time depends on complexity: simple swords / helmets can be produced and shipped within 2–3 weeks, whereas custom / historically accurate / heavy duty sets will take more time. We always specify lead times clearly in quotes.
- We’re equipped to handle large orders: up to 6,000 swords or 5,000 steel crafts, re-enactment gear a month: which means stable supply even for big ecommerce sellers or institutional orders.
Our Knight Armor is built the way real warriors needed their gear to be built, solid metal, reinforced joints, and weight that feels authentic.
You can choose between:
Functional Knight armor: Built for reenactments, combat-safe events, LARP combat, and training.
Display Knight armor: Same visual impact, optimized for home, office, museums, weddings, or ceremonies.
No guesswork. We specify it clearly on each product.
